Hi all. I’ve got a broken finger on my left hand. Nothing serious, but it means typing is hard right now. My June update and maybe July will therefore be running a bit late – sometime mid or late August I’d guess.
June incidentally was a really strong reading month. I’ll do short write-ups of each of these once I can:
The Murder of Halland, Pia Juul
The Visitors, Jessi Jezewska Stevens
White Tears, Hari Kunzru
Heaven, Meiko Kawakami
The Way Inn, Will Wiles
The Abominable Man, Sjöwall & Wahlöö
The Legacy of Molly Southbourne, T. Thompson
Confusion, Stefan Zweig
Cursed Bunny, Bora Chung
At Freddie’s, Penelope Fitzgerald
Not a dud among them.
In the meantime, here’s a photo from Bologna, which we spent some time in during our July holiday:
How frustrating for you. On the plus side, you’ll have mastered the art of one hand typing by the time the finger is healed.
Ugh, so sorry to hear this, Max, and wishing you all the best for a very speedy recovery. Are you left-handed? Very awkward if so…
Anyway, on a positive note, some great reading in June. At Freddie’s is brilliant, isn’t it? Another novel inspired by some of Fitzgerald’s experiences of the world. What a fascinating life she must have led!
Sorry to hear about that Max – but at least you’ve got some good reading in. Love Stefan Zweig! Hope the finger heals soon!
